The site for this existing single storey dwelling was bounded by part of the historical town wall and required close liaison with the local planning authority. The building required total refurbishment, and was well suited to providing an additional living area within the existing loft space. The internal spaces were re-planned with the kitchen forming the 'heart' of the house. The design provides a sensitive refurbishment for family living with strong visual links between internal spaces.
