Red Squirrel Architects was established by Miles Griffies and Carl Ward, both principal directors of the practice. Miles and Carl met whilst working together at Arts Team (RHWL) architects in London from 1999 until 2007

Miles Griffies MA RIBA ARB

Miles studied at Birmingham School of Architecture where he completed his bachelor-of-arts, postgraduate diploma, and masters degree in architecture. Miles was awarded the runner up prize to the RIBA President's Silver Medal award in 1994 for his postgraduate work.

Following this Miles worked in Singapore for three years working on a variety of projects including domestic houses, office, and light industrial buildings.

In 1997 Miles moved to Sydney, Australia to work for Woods Baggot Architects where he worked on the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. In Melbourne, he worked for Rothie Lowman Architects for 1 year gaining experience on a number of residential and mixed use developments.

In 1999 Miles moved to London where he worked for Arts Team for over 7 years. Whilst working at Arts Team Miles gained considerable experience working on numerous arts, entertainment, and educational projects. Miles is a registered architect and has over 10 years working experience.
